random thoughts

If you where stripped down to your foundation, what would you find? Without all your many shields and masks, without your fake smiles and wiles, what would you see? Are you happy in your raw form?

'I don't know who you are. I don't Know what you want. If you are looking for ransom, i can tell you i don't have money. But what i do have are a very particular set of skills; skills i have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let my daughter go bow, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, i will not pursue you. But if you don't, i will look for you, i will find you, and i will kill you.'

'I never did think of myself as handsome--terribly attractive, yea, but not handsome'

A great actor dedicated to his craft, I salute you

Life

No one realises how precious life is until it threatened and we are reminded that this body we live in is fleeting. One day it is going to expire and we will leave this world, for those who believe in God, its just another stage of life, and for those who don't, well that's it, no more you.

Everyday we hear news of tragic events, people that have died, accidents that have happened, and these people are just like the rest of us, they woke up and thought that this was just another day, going along with their usual routines and then just like that, their life is over.

When we read self help books and such, most are usually saying the same thing, 'we don't live life to the fullest', 'we don't 'seize the day', we live based on plans and assurances, yet as time goes by we fill unaccomplished and see ourselves stuck in the same mundane jobs routines and wonder where time as gone.

That's why i love Matthew 6:33, don't worry about tomorrow let tomorrow worry about itself.

Life can be adventurous, full of new things, taking risks and chances. All in all Life is what we make of it, ours to take charge of or let fade away,

Life with no regrets, and make everyday a new and different day.
Life is GREAT. take a chance

Prison Break (Season 1)

I just finished watching the season 1 of Prison Break, and OMG I see what the hype was all about. I have to admit when i first heard of Prison Break i was less than thrilled, a guy having blueprints tattooed all over his body, in order to go into prison to break his brother out for a crime he didn't commit, seemed like a one season wonder to me. So when my sister bought the box set and forced us all to watch it together, i had my ipod at hand with a good book so i could block out what i considered a colossal watse of money. But i am big enough to admit that, was I wrong.

I almost instantaneously fell in love with Michael, the immaculate plan he developed and the devotion he showed to his brother. I mean in most series, when you see the main character in difficult situation, their personality starts to change or in some cases just become plan annoying, but not in this case. Michael stayed true to who he was, never once compromising his beliefs or losing focus on why he was in that prison, he planned for any and every possible situation, which they said is only a possibility because of his high IQ and low latent inhibition (I already tested myself and i so don't have LLI Dammit!).

The series was well executed, as each episode was better than the less and us viewers where kept constantly intrigued. I watched as bumps and questions came and were just as swiftly solved or half answered, which left us wanting more and  trying to figure out the big picture was, from the beginning to the very end.

We were also introduced to amazing characters such as Sucre, Haywire and even T-Bag, who I have to say is my favourite behind Mr Scofield.

Overall I am very happy to have been forced to watch this series and cant wait to get started on season 2, (kinda glad I waited because i would have been highly unimpressed if i was watching it in real time and they left me with that kind of cliff hanger)

The wire: Omar Little

My sister and I were watching Season 5 episode 8 of the wire today, where the infamous Omar Little was gunned down by lil kenard at the Korean grocery store. While watching i suddenly came to a realization, i realized that when watching all these movies and dramas, they have the power to make us empathies with the mostly gratuitous people in this world.

Omar was no saint, far from it, he was more like in competition for the title devil, however through the course of the series, i started developing respect for him, and was genuinely sadden when a lil boy killed him.

One would expect that a legend such as he would die, gun blazing, in a battle with numerous opponents, against him and his shot gun, which ended with him riddled with bullets and then gazed with respects from his enemies. However to be killed by a kid thats just sad.

However what worried me more, is the power that this drama had, for me to want him not to die and let him succeed in killing all these people and gaining victory. I mean its not like when i see a real Stick artist my first thought would be "Aww i'm routing for you, kill em all", however when watching this series especially concerning Omar little i was routing for him.

worrying.

Goes to show you the power of media or one could argue the brilliance of actors. Michael K Williams did a fantastic job of playing Omar. We were able to connect to the character, as Williams took on the persona of Omar and through that we could follow him through his journey from beginning to the (belittling) end.

Just sharing my thoughts.

Kate Middleton (Royal Wedding)

Big Congratulations to our new potential queen to be Kate Middleton. I mean from the immaculate timing, to the beautiful dress designed by Sarah Burton from the house of Alexander McQueen, and the very miraculous weather conditions, all together resulted in a beautiful wedding. Who could ask for more.

As i was watching i realized that this was not only a big event for England, but also a very big day for Kate formally addressed as Catherine, as her dreams are coming true. I mean every girl dreams of that speacial day when they will walk up the aisle to that special guy and envision their lives together, with the kids, the big house, a good job and so and so, but Catherine got all that and more. Most girls wish that they get the perfect wedding with 'Prince Charming', and in this case she did. I mean not only did she get her beautiful dress, she got the big church, the big horse carriage, the crown and most importantly she got the prince. She is literally living the dream of 85% of the girls in the world (subtracting lesbians, nuns and tomboys). She got her dream, while most of society can only get a close replica.

All in all it was a great day and she was very beautiful, but on the flip side, she has just gained one of the world most prestigious and could be considered demanding extended families. Guess we can all take that as a silver lining, although looking at her on the day, I think she can cope.

Just sharing my thoughts.
